"How do Fusion Oncoproteins cause Leukemia: from Target Genes to Onco-condensates"
Dr Florian Grebien
Institute for Medical Biochemistry, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute. CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine.
The host of this seminar is René Winkler.
Florian Grebien’s research focuses on acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a cancer of white blood cells that is characterized by the rapid growth of abnormal myeloid cells that accumulate in the bone marrow and interfere with the production of normal blood cells. The Grebien laboratory aims to contribute to a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of leukemia development. We study cellular and molecular effects of leukemia-associated oncoproteins through the development and use of novel tools, including cell culture and mouse models, Next Generation Sequencing, Mass Spectrometry and primary patient samples.
