Rafael J. Argüello is a molecular immunologist and CNRS Research Scientist (CRCN) at Aix-Marseille Université and the CIML in Marseille, where he leads the Metabolic Regulation of Immunity team. His research investigates how metabolic stress shapes long-term immune programming through epigenetic mechanisms, supported by the development of innovative single-cell and spatial approaches. He invented SCENITH™ and expanded it into Epic-SCENITH and Spatial-SCENITH, now used to interrogate therapy resistance and immune dysfunction in diverse disease settings. He co-founded GammaOmics to help translate SCENITH™-based innovations toward personalized medicine, and serves on the steering committee of the European ImmunoMetabolism Network, coordinating training, collaborations, and dissemination across the community.
