The PIPgen project begins the recruitment of young researchers to train the future leaders in the field of PI3K/PTEN related diseases
Funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission, within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) actions, the PIPgen project has just published a call to hire 15 early-stage researchers to develop their doctoral thesis in the field of cancer research and rare diseases.
Under the coordination of Dr. Mariona Graupera, leader of the Endothelial Pathobiology and Microenvironment group at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, PIPgen will investigate the relationship between genetic alterations in the phosphoinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) / PTEN pathway, present both in rare monogenic diseases and in some types of cancer.
Of the 15 contracts that the project will formalize, 2 researchers will join Dr. Graupera's group to study vascular malformations in patients with PHTS (PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome) (project 4) and to identify therapies directed against PI3Ka that affect the vascular and immune system (project 13).
Applications are welcome until June 27, through the project website (https://pipgen.eu). The selected candidates will join their laboratories between September 2021 and February of 2022.
