The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute signs a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health of Andorra to collaborate in biomedical research

The Ministry of Health of Andorra and the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute have signed an memorandum of understanding with the aim of formalizing a strategic alliance to promote the execution of projects in the field of haematological biomedicine of excellence, especially in leukemia.

The agreement establishes the courses of action to build a framework of institutional collaboration for the promotion of scientific projects and actions, to collaborate in the development of research projects, to promote scientific and technical training programs for researchers and managers, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship activities related to biomedicine.

On the other hand, according the current legislation on national and international biomedical research, the agreement promotes cooperation between public sector institutions in basic and clinical research, especially promoting the mobility of researchers with the formalization of agreements for a collaborative training.

The agreement of intent, signed this Tuesday by the Minister of Health of Andorra, Joan Martínez Benazet, the President of the Management Commission of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Evarist Feliu, together with the Director of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Manel Esteller, has an initial duration of two years.

At this meeting, both institutions expressed their gratitude to the Carreras family, represented by Albert Carreras.
