The Josep Carreras Institute and the UOC strengthen their bond after the establishment of a future scientific collaboration agreement
The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research, Dr. Marta Aymerich, and the Deputy General Manager of R&I, Mr. Ciro Llueca, have visited the headquarters of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute and have met with its management team to launch a new scientific collaboration created by both institutions.
The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, a CERCA center of the Generalitat de Catalunya, has received the visit of Dr. Marta Aymerich, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Research, and Mr. Ciro Llueca, Deputy General Manager of R&I of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). They were received by the Institute's Director, Dr. Manel Esteller, the president of the institution's Management Committee, Dr. Evarist Feliu, and the acting Managing Director, Ana Garrido. The UOC representatives could learn more about the Institute and its research and visit its scientific facilities.
The visit has taken place in the framework of the establishment of an agreement between IJC and the UOC, which aims to strengthen ties and initiate a permanent collaboration between both institutions. At the meeting between the Institute's management team and representatives of the online university, progress was made in the development of activities of mutual interest to both parties in the field of R+D+I and the partial secondment of UOC staff to IJC.
The two institutions thus reaffirm their joint commitment to science and their intention to work together to promote research, its translation from bench to bedside, and undergraduate and postgraduate education in the field of health.
