Nearly thirty outstanding professionals -from the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and Research Institute (IGTP), the Fight Infections Foundation and the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute- have been included in a worldwide list of scientists who achieve a greater impact thanks to their publications and citations.

This is a new update of the Scopus database of Elsevier, which is a global publisher of great tradition and prestige in Medicine and Health Sciences. The list includes some 200,000 authors -who represent 2% of the scientific personnel of the whole world-, who are recognized in two classifications: according to their scientific career and according to their impact during the past year.

The Can Ruti Campus and the healthcare and research team of the different institutions of the Campus continue to prove to be a relevant node in terms of scientific production and progress on a global scale.

The list includes eight researchers from the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute: the Director Manel Esteller and the Principal Investigators Josep Maria Ribera, Esteban Ballestar, Alejandro Vaquero, Montse Sánchez-Cespedes, María Berdasco, and Fumiichiro Yamamoto, besides the scientific founder of the Institute, Ciril Rozman.
