3500 runners support research against leukemia in the Màgic BDN Running 2022

Dr. Manel Esteller, director of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, attended the charity run, organized annually in Badalona in memory of the athlete Luis Condón. Dr. Esteller thanked the donation made to support research against leukemia.

The 11th edition of the Màgic Badalona Running took place this Sunday, October 16, with a great success of participation. The race was organized in memory of the athlete from Badalona Luis Condón, who died of leukemia. It brought together 3500 participants who enjoyed a run through the most emblematic spots of the city, in a festive and family atmosphere.

Dr. Manel Esteller represented the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute in the event and thanked all participants for their support to the center's research work in the fight against leukemia. Dr. Esteller accompanied the Mayor of Badalona, Rubén Guijarro, the Deputy Mayor, Àlex Montornès, and other representatives of the Badalona City Council and the Josep Carreras Foundation in this event full of sport and solidarity, one of the most important in the city.

In addition to handing the trophies to the winners of the 5K category, Dr. Esteller together with the family of Luis Condón picked up the check for the funds raised, which will go to research against leukemia. From runners to researchers, every step counts in this race against the disease. Our fight will endure until there’s a cure!
